Meeting Information

Our speaker for the April luncheon/meeting will be Mike Parsons of Save Alabama’s Values and Education. He is a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel and former Butler High School Air Force JROTC Instructor.  Having experienced the changes in education brought on by Obama’s administration, he was alarmed and concerned about the future of our country.  He ran for the State Board of Education, District 8 seat held by Mary Scott Hunter in the 2014 Republican Primary.  She had strongly promoted the socialist agenda known as the Common Core State Standards despite the objections of leaders of the Republican party at the national, the state and the county levels. Mike Parsons has continued his fight for this state’s future by becoming an expert on the ramifications of the Common Core agenda and tirelessly working to educate the people and political leaders of Alabama.  It has been nine years since the State Board of Education voted to join the Common Core State Standards initiative.  And it has failed miserably. We finally find ourselves just a House vote away from repealing Common Core, thanks to Colonel (Ret.) Parsons  and other patriots like him. You are welcomed to come join us in hearing where we currently stand in this battle.
